HOT PICK
Saturday
Comedy: Prepare for a night of laughs. Dana Carvey and David Spade will perform on Saturday at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino. Both are known for iconic roles on “Saturday Night Live.” Even though Carvey is known for his Church Lady character and for portraying former president George H.W. Bush, he’s acclaimed for his role opposite Mike Myers as Garth in the “Wayne’s World” sketches.
In addition to the many roles Spade played on the show, he was also a writer and contributed material for cast members such as Carvey, Chris Rock, Adam Sandler Chris Farley and more. In 1995, he and Farley became comedy film stars after the success of “Tommy Boy.” He also starred in the films “Joe Dirt” and “Dickie Roberts: Former Child Star.”
If you go: 8 p.m., Saturday, Fantasy Springs Resort Casino, 84-245 Indio Springs Parkway, Indio. Tickets are $82 to $133. fantasyspringsresort.com

Saturday
Folk: Rolling Stone has referred to folk singer-songwriter Joy Oladokun as “Nashville’s most low-key musical revolutionary.” Her 2024 album “Observations From A Crowded Room” was written during a period of soul-searching as a Black queer artist who performs in spaces that aren’t always welcoming. Even so, she’s collaborated with artists such as Chris Stapleton, Jason Isbell, Brandi Carlile and more.
Oladokun will perform on Saturday at Pappy and Harriet’s.
If you go: 9:30 p.m., Saturday, Pappy and Harriet’s, 53-688 Pioneertown Road, Pioneertown. Tickets $48.98. pappyandharriets.com

Sunday
Classical: It’s hard to imagine any humor behind the classical works of Chopin, Beethoven, Mendelssohn and Debussy, but classical pianist Jeffrey Siegel will present “Humor in Music” as part of his annual “Keyboard Conversations” series on Sunday at the McCallum Theatre.
As a soloist, Siegel has performed engagements with The New York Philharmonic, The Los Angeles Philharmonic, The Cleveland Orchestra and more.
If you go: 3 p.m., Sunday, McCallum Theatre, 73-000 Fred Waring Drive, Palm Desert. Tickets $33 to $58. mccallumtheatre.com
