The LA Lakers find a fresh inspiration ahead of the nemesis contest. LeBron James, who seemed to have gotten into the championship zone lately with his uncanny silence on social media, takes Kendrick Lamar’s to help to lock in. Ahead of the clash against the Denver Nuggets with whom the Lakers have an embarrassing record, the roster takes advantage of the team’s unique music project. Let’s dig more into it.
During the 2024 training camp, the Lakers facility had plenty of fresh additions. Well, Coach JJ Redick was definitely the notable addition. But apart from that, James brought out a special initiative to add a layer to the practice sessions. It was the in-house DJ, who was none other than the superstar’s old pal, Jameel Davis, a.k.a. DJ Meel.
So, before the Nuggets clash, the DJ blared one of the songs from Kendrick Lamar’s new album, GNX. The facility visuals feature LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and other Lakers players grooving to the music as they shoot around!

Not to forget, King James has a special place for Kendrick Lamar’s music. We’ve seen the 4x NBA Champ recommend good music to his fans via his social media. Especially, during a practice game ahead of the Paris Olympics, when Stephen Curry seemed too tired of repeatedly listening to Lamar’s ‘Not Like Us’, Bron confidently said, “I love it”, making a strong case amid the Lamar-Drake beef.

Nevertheless, now that Bron has officially stepped away from social media for the time being, he seems to have found a way to suggest songs to his fans. Despite holding the fourth seed in the West, the Lakers seemed to have had a shaky start to the season, suffering frustrating losses. So, the superstar has taken the call for the greater good. Tonight, the Lakers have an exciting challenge against the Nuggets.
LeBron James locks in alongside Bronny before the fierce duel
In the last two years, the Lakers and Nuggets have had an interesting matchup. The Mile-High City clearly seems to be on top of the conflict. In the last 13 match-ups, the LA side has a 1-12 record. If not for the fight effort in the 2024 first-round game to extend the series by one game, the record would be 0-13.
