COLUMBUS, Ohio — Justin Fields kicked off the Ohio State reunion in New York this offseason by signing with the Jets and now his former center is joining him.
Josh Myers has reportedly signed a one-year, $3.5 million contract with the Jets as he moves on from the Green Bay Packers.
Myers spent four seasons with the Buckeyes ‚arriving as the No. 53 player and No. 2 guard in the 2017 class, expecting to be their future starting center. He spent two years developing in the background before taking over the role in 2019, which was also Ryan Day’s first year as the head coach. It was also Fields’ first season in Columbus after transferring from Georgia.
As the starting center, Myers played 1,438 snaps, allowing just 26 pressures and six sacks. OSU reached the College Football Playoffs in both 2019 and 2020, getting to the national title game in 2020.
He earned All-Big Ten honors in both seasons while being a second-team All-American in 2020 before being a second-round pick to the Packers in 2020, where he’s spent his four seasons, starting the last three. In 2,135 pass-blokcing snaps, he’s allowed 81 pressures and nine sacks.
Myers will be the fourth former Buckeye to be part of the Jets’ offense in 2025. He joins Fields as free agents joining the team while Garrett Wilson and Jeremy Rucket enter their fourth seasons with New York after originally being drafted by the organization in 2021.
