Blue Bloods fans better hold onto their hats as the final episode of the series nears. Cast member Abigail Hawk made some shocking revelations about the show’s series finale and which character will shock the audience the most.
“Erin has the most surprising conclusion,” she told Us Weekly last month about which member of the Reagan family would have a shocking ending.
Bridget Moynahan has portrayed Erin Reagan for all 14 seasons of the show. It seems like things will come to a head for her in the show’s dramatic series finale on December 13.
“I’m a little scared of Bridget,” Abigail joked of her costar, saying she did not want to give too much of Erin’s final story line away. “I love her so much, but I also have a healthy respect for that woman.”
Erin’s character has had quite an interesting run on season 14, as her ex-husband, Jack Boyle, resurfaced on the show. Jack is played by Peter Hermann, who has been quite the polarizing character throughout the seasons.
CBS released photos from the final two episodes. It kind of looks like Erin and Jack are cozying up to each other again. In one picture, Erin is seen wrapping her arm around Jack, signaling that there could be something brewing between them.
Would it be surprising if Erin and Jack officially got back together and decided to get married again? For sure! And we wouldn’t be surprised if Erin or one of her siblings had some big news to share at the final Reagan family dinner. But we can’t be certain until the final episodes play out on TV.
Bridget also teased what’s to come for Erin and Jack in season 14.
“The rest of the family really is not into him,” she told TV Insider in an interview published on November 15. “This season he does come in a few times, and I think that people are going to be really excited about the last episode in regards to that story line.”
“It’s so interesting, right? Your kind of first major love and the hurt and then the knowledge that that’s really like your soulmate and best friend and you keep flirting over the years,” she said of their rocky romance on the show. “Isn’t it so much fun kind of still flirting with that bad relationship? It’s maybe not the healthiest thing for you, even in adulthood.”
One thing that is for certain is that the show’s ending will be satisfying.
“There’s some heartbreak and there’s some joyful news,” the Sex and the City actress dished. “There’s some hopeful news.”
All in all, the cast all seem to be in agreement that ending the show now is not the right move by CBS.
“None of us wanted the show to end. Every single one of us, regardless of whatever rumors were flying around, was very ready, willing, and able to continue working,” Abigail told Us Weekly. “Most especially Tom [Selleck] and Len [Cariou].”
