Brandon Garrison Injury: Kentucky Basketball big man sidelined due to soreness

As the Kentucky Wildcats get set to host the Georgia State Panthers, one key rotational player will not be suiting up.

During pregame warmups, sophomore center Brandon Garrison was seen in sweats and not doing his normal routine.

Then, on the pregame radio show, head coach Mark Pope announced that Garrison would be held out as a precaution due to soreness.

In six games this season (no starts), the Oklahoma State transfer is averaging 6.3 points on 48.6% shooting, 5.2 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 1.2 blocks, and 1.2 steals in 18.5 minutes per contest.

In Kentucky’s 77-72 win over the Duke Blue Devils, Garrison scored eight points on 4/5 shooting with four rebounds, two assists, one block, one steal, and one turnover. He also hit a long 2-pointer that appeared to be a 3.

Hopefully, this is just Kentucky playing it safe in a game they should win before facing road tests vs. the Clemson Tigers and Gonzaga Bulldogs the following week.

Here’s to a speedy recovery for Garrison!
