CLEVELAND, Ohio — The Browns will try to do something they haven’t done since 1988 — complete a season sweep of the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Pittsburgh, of course, is still alive and fighting for the AFC North title while the Browns, following their ninth loss of the season in Denver on Monday night, aren’t officially eliminated but are all but done.
Will Myles Garrett wreak havoc once again after his three-sack first half last time? Will the Browns secondary lock down trash-talking George Pickens?
Here are cleveland.com‘s staff picks for Sunday’s matchup. The Steelers were 6.5-point favorites when picks were requested on Friday.
Dan Labbe (5-7 overall; 5-7 against the spread): Steelers 22, Browns 18*
Is this the Browns team that sweeps Pittsburgh for the first time since 1988? I don’t think they are.
Mary Kay Cabot (4-8; 4-8): Steelers 25, Browns 20*
The Steelers get revenge for their 24-19 loss in Cleveland and prevent a Browns sweep.
Jimmy Watkins (3-8; 4-7): Steelers 16, Browns 10*
This team isn’t breaking the no-sweep streak, no matter how funny that would be.
Ashley Bastock (3-9; 4-8 ): Steelers 27, Browns 24*
It will be a tough ask this year to sweep Pittsburgh, which undoubtedly has revenge on its mind. This will be slightly higher scoring than the snow game two weeks ago.
