Dollywood employee injured in park incident


Dollywood said onsite paramedics responded and the employee was airlifted to a nearby medical facility.

GATLINBURG, Tenn. — Dollywood confirms an employee was injured in “an incident” at the park Monday morning. 

Pigeon Forge Fire Chief Tony Watson said they were dispatched to Dollywood for a rescue “of a person with entrapment” at 11:04 a.m. He referred all other questions to Dollywood.

Dollywood said onsite paramedics responded and the employee was airlifted to a nearby medical facility. 

“At this time, our priority is supporting our employee and gathering information,” Dollywood said in a statement. “An update will be provided if information becomes available to share.” 

No other information was made available.

According to the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development, Dollywood reported the incident to the Tennessee Occupational Safety and Health Administration. 

They said, “The employer did report Monday’s hospitalization injury that occurred at Dollywood to Tennessee OSHA within the permissible timeframe. TOSHA is coordinating an on-site inspection to determine the circumstances that led to the worker’s injury.”
