General Hospital Casts Adrian Anchondo, New Mysterious Character Marco

A new mysterious man will be walking around Port Charles now that General Hospital has cast daytime newcomer Adrian Anchondo. He will appear for the first time in the contract role of Marco on Thursday, March 13.

Welcome To Port Charles

TV Insider broke the casting news that the mysterious Marco is a lawyer. And a clue to his purpose in town may lie in who Anchondo screen tested with — Van Hansis (Dr. Lucas Jones), himself a newcomer to the ABC soap. Of course, Hansis wasn’t new to soaps when he joined the GH cast last October, having previously played Luke Snyder on As the World Turns from 2005-10. As it turns out, Anchondo’s screen test wasn’t the first time he and Hansis had met.

Anchondo told the publication, “Van and I met each other at Williamstown Theater Festival 20 years ago. I think we did a play with each other. It’s funny because I remember having a little crush on him back then, and we’ve been in the same circles because we have mutual friends. So, I felt totally comfortable.”

The actor may be new to daytime, but he’s no stranger to acting. In fact, he has an impressive resume that includes appearances on Law & Order: Organized Crime, FBI: Most Wanted, The Rookie, NCIS: Los Angeles and many others.

He’s also no stranger to soaps. He told TV Insider that his mother, who has since passed away, was a fan of both GH and Young and Restless, and he would watch them with her as she got ready for work. His grandmother is excited to see him make his debut. “She’s so excited and proud,” he told the website. She has another reason to be proud — in May, he will graduate with his master’s in psychology, which should certainly come in handy with his acting. As for GH, Anchondo teased that, in true soap fashion, his character will have some dark secrets.
