Impact Weather: Heavy rain, strong wind expected in Central Florida Monday
748. AT 516. NOW, ON YOUR MONDAY MORNING, LET’S TALK ABOUT THE WEATHER OUT THERE, BECAUSE WE DO HAVE SOME, YOU KNOW, IMPACT WEATHER THAT COULD, YOU KNOW, AS YOU’RE DRIVING INTO SCHOOL THIS MORNING OR WORK, YOU MAY SEE SOME RAIN OUT THERE. IT’S ONLY GOING TO BE FOR OUR NORTHERN LOCATIONS THOUGH FOR AT LEAST THE DRIVE TO SCHOOL NORTH AND WEST OF TOWN. AND THEN IT’S GOING TO WORK ACROSS CENTRAL FLORIDA AROUND THE LATE MORNING EARLY AFTERNOON HOURS. AND IT’S NOT GOING TO LAST ALL DAY. BUT DO KNOW THAT WE WILL HAVE SOME SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS THAT MAY TRY TO TURN SEVERE. AS WE TAKE A LOOK AT YOUR 12 HOUR PLANNER, WE’LL HAVE PLENTY OF SUNSHINE TO START IN SOME OF OUR SOUTHEASTERN LOCATIONS, BUT CLOUDS AND QUICKLY INCREASE. AND THEN WE’LL START TO SEE THOSE SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS INCREASE AS WELL. BY 3:00. I’M EXPECTING MOST OF THAT RAINFALL TO BE OUT OF THE WAY, AND THEN MOSTLY SUNNY CONDITIONS FOR THE EVENING HOURS. RIGHT NOW, THOSE SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WORKING FROM LAKE CITY INTO THE JACKSONVILLE AREA, AND WE HAVE PLENTY OF SHOWER AND THUNDERSTORM ACTIVITY OFF THE COAST OF THE FLORIDA GULF COAST THAT IS QUICKLY MAKING ITS APPROACH TO LEVY COUNTY RIGHT AROUND CEDAR KEY, AND THEN EVENTUALLY WILL WORK INTO WESTERN MARION COUNTY. SO BECAUSE THESE SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ARE ROLLING A LITTLE BIT QUICKER THAN WHAT OUR FUTURECAST IS INDICATING, I’M EXPECTING AROUND SIX, 7:00, A COUPLE OF THOSE THUNDERSTORMS TO WORK INTO WESTERN MARION COUNTY AND THEN CONTINUE TO WORK ACROSS MARION COUNTY AND OUR NORTHWESTERN LOCATIONS THROUGHOUT THE DAY. TODAY, BY 1030, 11:00, WE’LL SEE SOME SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ACROSS THE I-4 CORRIDOR AND THEN PUSHING DOWN TO THE SOUTH AND EAST AROUND 12 1:00 IN THE AFTERNOON IN EASTERN ORANGE COUNTY, OSCEOLA COUNTY, AND IN BREVARD COUNTY. WE STILL MAY HAVE A COUPLE OF LINGERING THUNDERSTORMS IN SOUTHERN BREVARD COUNTY AROUND TWO, BUT BY 3:00, ALL OF THAT RAINFALL CLEARS OUT, SO IT’S NOT GOING TO RAIN ALL DAY ACROSS CENTRAL FLORIDA. BUT DO KNOW IT’S GOING TO BE A LITTLE BIT EARLIER FOR OUR NORTH AND WEST LOCATIONS. IMPACTS DO INCLUDE DAMAGING WIND AS THE BIGGEST CONCERN. TORNADO THREAT, HAIL THREAT, HEAVY RAIN THREAT IS ALL ON THE LOWER END, BUT NOT ZERO. RIGHT NOW THINGS ARE PRETTY QUIET ACROSS CENTRAL FLORIDA AS WE TAKE A LOOK AT OUR TOWER CAM NETWORK AND WE’RE WARM. TEMPERATURES THIS MORNING ARE IN THE 70S, SO AS YOU GET THE KIDS READY FOR SCHOOL, JUST KNOW THAT RIGHT NOW WE’RE RELATIVELY DRY IN WESTERN MARION COUNTY. MAKE SURE THAT YOU ARE AWARE THAT THOSE SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WILL MOVE INTO THE AREA. BY THE TIME THAT YOU DROP THE KIDS OFF AT THE BUS STOP, AND THEN BY THE TIME THAT YOU PICK THE KIDS UP FROM SCHOOL, ALL OF THAT ACTIVITY WILL CLEAR. THEN THIS AFTERNOON, OUR TEMPERATURES ONLY WARM UP INTO THE 70S AND IT’S GOING TO BE GUSTY. OUR WINDS TODAY WILL BE SUSTAINED AT 15 TO 25MPH, GUSTING AROUND 30MPH. SO WE HAVE A WIND ADVISORY THAT’S GOING TO START AT 10:00 THIS MORNING. GOING UNTIL 7:00 THIS EVENING. STILL PRETTY BREEZY FOR TOMORROW MORNING WITH TEMPERATURES IN THE 40S AND 50S. AND THEN BY TOMORROW AFTERNOON WE’RE IN THE 70S AS HIGH TEMPERATURES AREA, LOW PRESSURE PULLS AWAY, HIGH PRESSURE MOVES INTO PLACE. THAT’S JUST GOING TO SET US UP FOR A REALLY NICE FORECAST OVER THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS. AND IN FACT, IN OUR SEVEN-DAY FORECAST, WE ARE DRY. ON TUESDAY, 74 LOTS OF SUNSHINE NEARING THE LOW 80S ON WEDNESDAY, AND THE
