It may be a new year, but the tradition of Oregon players competing on “Jeopardy!” is continuing into 2025. On the episode that airs on Monday, Jan. 6, Steve Miller, a retired medical transcriptionist from Eugene, will play, along with Jonquil Garrick-Reynolds, a theatrical wardrobe technican from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada; and Drew Goins, a journalist from Honolulu, Hawaii.
(No antenna or cable? You can stream “Jeopardy!” on Sling TV.)
These will be return appearances for the players, as the “Jeopardy!” Second Chance tournament, in which 18 contestants from the past year who didn’t score wins the first time around, come back for another chance.
This is the second week of the two-week tournament. Last week, Colleen Matthews, a speech-language pathologist from Hillsboro, competed, though she came in second (Will Yancey, a lecturer of history from Banquete, Texas, was the first Second Chance round winner.)
The two winners from both weeks will advance to the Champions Wildcard Tournament. The two players who win in that competition will then move on to the 2025 Tournament of Champions, vying for the $250,000 prize, and a slot in the upcoming “Jeopardy! Masters” games.
“Jeopardy!” airs weeknights at 7 p.m. on KATU-TV.
