MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – Folks can grab a taste of everything as the Myrtle Beach Food Truck & Music Festival gets underway.
“It is a lot fun, a lot of different foods,” said Christy Williams, owner of Over Flow food truck. “I take a little time to visit the other vendors, so if you are foodie, definitely the place to be.”
The three-day festival kicks off Friday at noon and goes through Sunday at the Old Myrtle Beach Mall site, 2501 North Kings Highway.
“We are ready,” said Tyreik Eaddy, owner of SeaSoul Melody food truck. “I believe I am overprepared, and hopefully, there is a good turnout.”
There will be over 55 food trucks serving everything from smoky BBQ, global street food, coastal favorites, and indulgent desserts.
“I was shocked to see how many food trucks there are, different varieties of food,” said Gary Gallerie, who attended from Pennsylvania. “I am really excited to spend the day here and try all different foods from the local region. I have been smelling the ribs, they have been smelling good. I can not wait to try that. I have this pizza cone, something new. It is pretty good. I just want to try everything in general.”
Along with food, there will be craft beer from Wicked Weed, a brewery based in Asheville, N.C., local vendors, and live music.
On the music side of things, there will be several acts hitting the state throughout the weekend, who are all local.
Two of the acts were on American Idol, including Conway native Mariah Faith.
“It is so fun, I am so excited,” said Faith. “It always feels good to go back home, especially for something like this where we can showcase not only me but the boys and so many other local live acts and have all the support come out not just for the food but for the music too.”
