Peyton Manning went viral for his on-stage performance — and no, we’re not talking about his co-hosting gig at the 2024 Country Music Association awards.
The football star took the stage at Losers Bar & Grill in Downtown Nashville to sing David Allan Coe’s “You Never Even Called Me by My Name.”
He was accompanied by the bar crowd passionately singing along.
A video of Manning’s encore performance circulated on TikTok on Thursday, Nov. 21, the day after the CMA Awards. The comment section was quick to embrace his rendition of the country classic.
“You’re the man Peyton. Love this song!” One user said. More than 160 TikTok users also voiced their opinions. “I’m obsessed with this,” another commenter said.
Who hosted the 2024 CMA Awards?
Luke Bryan, Peyton Manning and Lainey Wilson co-hosted the 58th Annual CMA Awards on Wednesday evening.
Both Bryan and Manning had previously hosted the award show, but this was Wilson’s first time to host the CMAs.

Who won Entertainer of the Year at the 2024 CMA Awards?
Morgan Wallen won the Entertainer of the Year award, though he was not at Bridgestone Arena to collect the award on Wednesday. Presenter Jeff Bridges accepted the award on Wallen’s behalf.
“Morgan couldn’t make it tonight, so I’m going to accept this award on his behalf,” Bridges told the crowd Wednesday night. “Alright, let’s hear it for Morgan!”
Wallen beat out Luke Combs, Jelly Roll, Chris Stapleton and Lainey Wilson for the honor of the Entertainer of the Year title.
Why Wasn’t Morgan Wallen at the CMA Awards?
It’s still unclear why the 31-year-old singer was absent from last night’s event. He wrapped up his One Night at a Time tour in October and was reportedly not scheduled for any other appearances Wednesday.
Wallen has also not acknowledged the win on his social media platforms.
