Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg Satirize Hollywood

For the last few years in Hollywood, it’s kind of felt like that “This is Fine” meme of the dog in a burning house and based on the teaser for their new Apple TV+ series, it seems Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg have been picking up on that vibe as well.

They both serve as writers, directors, and executive producers on the half hour scripted comedy “The Studio,” which stars Rogen as an anxiety-ridden new studio chief dealing with a business landscape that’s crumbling at his feet.

The official synopsis reads, “In ‘The Studio,’ Seth Rogen stars as Matt Remick, the newly appointed head of embattled Continental Studios. As movies struggle to stay alive and relevant, Matt and his core team of infighting executives battle their own insecurities as they wrangle narcissistic artists and craven corporate overlords in the ever-elusive pursuit of making great films. With their power suits masking their never-ending sense of panic, every party, set visit, casting decision, marketing meeting, and award show presents them with an opportunity for glittering success or career-ending catastrophe. As someone who eats, sleeps, and breathes movies, it’s the job Matt’s been pursuing his whole life, and it may very well destroy him.

In addition to Rogen, “The Studio” also features Emmy, SAG, and Golden Globe Award-winner Catherine O’Hara (“Schitt’s Creek), Emmy Award-nominee Kathryn Hahn (“Agatha All Along”), Ike Barinholtz (“Neighbors”), and Chase Sui Wonders (“Bodies Bodies Bodie”). Bryan Cranston (“Breaking Bad”) guest stars on the series.

“The Studio” was created by Emmy Award winners Peter Huyck and Alex Gregory (“Veep”), as well as Rogen and Goldberg, and Frida Perez. The show was produced by Lionsgate Television alongside Point Grey Pictures‘ James Weaver, Alex McAtee, and Josh Fagen, who all serve as executive producers.

The first two episodes of “The Studio” premiere on Apple TV+ March 26, 2025, with new episodes dropping every Wednesday through May 21, 2025. The series marks a reunion with the streamer for Rogen after starring in and executive producing the Nicholas Stoller series “Platonic” alongside “Neighbors” co-star Rose Byrne last year. That show was picked up for a second season, but no release date is set yet.
