HOUSTON – The Texans weren’t done bolstering the wide receiver position.

Days after trading for veteran wide receiver Christian Kirk, the Texans have reached an agreement with Miami Dolphins free agent wide receiver and return specialist Braxton Berrios.

He is set to sign a one-year, $2 million contract, per a league source.

Berrios is represented by Drew Rosenhaus and Robert Bailey.

Berrios, 29, has also played for the New York Jets and New England Patriots.

He caught no passes in six games during an injury-shortened season last year, but averaged 25.3 yards per kickoff return. His career average is 24.8 yards per return with one touchdown. He averaged 14.7 yards per punt return last season.

Berrios caught 27 passes for 238 yards and one touchdown two seasons ago. He caught a career-high 46 passes for 431 yards and two scores with the Jets in 2021.

The former University of Miami standout has caught 134 career passes for 1,323 yards and six touchdowns.
