Two men charged with murder after teen killed in backyard shooting last month, Knoxville police say


KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – The Knoxville Police Department said two people have been charged with murder in connection to a deadly shooting last month.

KPD’s Scott Erland said Homicide Unit detectives charged 21-year-old Jaylyn Hudson and 19-year-old Jayden Conwell with first-degree murder in connection to 16-year-old Ayden Russo’s death.

On March 24, officers went to a home in the 2500 block of Louise Avenue just after midnight and found Russo, who had been shot in the backyard of a home.

Erland said Russo was pronounced dead on the scene and that officers found several shell casings in the backyard.

With help from the Knox County Sheriff’s Office, Erland said Hudson and Conwell were detained on Monday, and after being questioned, they were taken into custody.
