ARLINGTON – The UT Arlington softball team looks to carry its momentum into Tuesday’s midweek matchup against UTSA as the Mavericks will host the Roadrunners at Allan Saxe Field at 6 p.m.
The previous meeting between the two program was last season in Arlington where UTA picked up an 8-2 victory. Depsite UTSA leading the overall series record, 43-36, the Mavericks have a 17-10 home record against the Roadrunners while being 6-4 in the last 10 matchups.

UTA NOTES
- The Mavericks are coming off a 2-1 conference series win over Utah Tech as UTA improved its overall record to 12-9.
- Sophomore transfer Mia McNulty finished .500 on the weekend, leading the Mavericks with three RBI, two doubles and five hits. Overall, McNulty raised her batting average to .321 – second-best on the team – with 11 RBI, six doubles, 18 hits, a .536 slugging percentage and a .409 on-base percentage.
- Junior Kailee Bautista has proven to be a true spark in head coach Kara Dill‘s lineup this season, guiding the Mavericks’ offense with a .385 batting average. Not only does the Rockwall product lead in batting average, she also ranks at the top in RBI (15), hits (20), total bases (33), walks (16), hit-by-pitches (7), slugging percentage (.635) and on-base percentage (.573).
- Bautista has reached base safely at least one time in the last 12 games as the power hitter has compiled six multi-hit and four multi-RBI games so far this season.
- Freshman Talia Maldonado is the final Mav who currently holds a .300 batting average or higher as the Corpus Christi native has 12 RBI on the year with 16 hits, 11 runs scored and 28 total bases.
- After UTA’s conference opener, sophomore Kailtyn Sailor and junior Elizabeth Baylor tabbed a .444 batting average – each coming away with two doubles and six total bases.
- In the circle this season, sixth year Emilie Hoelscher sits on an ERA of 2.83 as she leads the seven-player pitching rotation with 29.2 innings pitched. The lefty has tossed 15 strike outs, one complete game and one shutout.
- Sophomore Abi Gutierrez and senior Jessica Adams threw a combined shutout against the Trailblazers in Saturday’s series finale, securing the win for UTA. Gutierrez snagged six strike outs, limiting Utah Tech’s offense to one hit.
ON DECK
The Mavs will shift focus to their second WAC series in Stephenville where UTA will face Tarleton on Friday, Mar, 14 at 6:30 p.m. followed by a doubleheader on Saturday, Mar. 15 beginning at 1 p.m.
