“We must not find excuses, we must play and win this match”

AC Milan head coach Sergio Conceicao has urged his side not to look for excuses despite the fact that the squad is stretched very thin.

For Milan the task is quite simply tonight in the sense that a win against Dinamo Zagreb will see them finish at least sixth in the table, and therefore qualify directly for the last 16 of the competitions as one of the top eight sides.

If it were to be a draw in the Croatian capital that would make things a bit more complicated, but we explained the various ramifications during an article earlier today. Dinamo meanwhile can get into the play-off places, but they have to win to stand a chance.

Conceicao has made it clear that he is not a big fan of doing interviews pre-match, but he spoke to Sky (via MilanNews) and offered a brief comment ahead of tonight’s game.

“I chose based on this match. Some choices are due to injuries and because some players are not registered on the list. We have 17 outfield players, some young players are on the bench, this is the moment and we must not find excuses, we must play and win this match,” he said.
