Toronto has had some bad luck with injuries this season, notably to Scottie Barnes, who only played in four games, and Immanuel Quickley, who has only taken the floor in three.
Never fear because RJ is here!
That’s right, former Duke star RJ Barrett has been outstanding and has very much risen to the occasion for the Raptors.
He’s averaging 21.7 ppg, 6.2 rpg and 6.6 apg.
Barrett has had some big games for the Raptors, with 33, 31, 23 and 25 points in various games along the way. But Monday night set a new standard for the former Duke star as he lit Indiana up for 39 points.
Barrett hit 4-8 from behind the line and 13-21 overall. He also shot 9-12 from the free throw line, had nine rebounds and five assists.
The Raptors are struggling but Barrett has emerged as a rock for his team and for Duke fans, it’s great to see.
